About Alumic

Two people working the gap between a ringing phone and a booked job.

We build websites, run search and ads, and find where inquiries fall out of a trade business. We are small on purpose, based in Los Angeles, and we work from your numbers.

Where we came from

A freelance practice that found its trade.

Trevor started Alumic, as Alumic Softworks, in Los Angeles in 2021. It was a freelance practice doing web builds, SEO audits, paid-media strategy and landing pages for small and mid-sized businesses.

Across that work one gap kept showing up, and it was widest with trade contractors: the phone rings, the form comes in, and somewhere between that and a booked job the inquiry goes quiet. A missed call at lunch. A web form answered the next morning. An estimate nobody followed up.

So the practice became Alumic and narrowed to the trades: HVAC companies, plumbers, electricians, roofers and landscapers. The marketing still matters, but we measure it by what reaches the schedule.

  1. 2018

Trevor starts on the technical side of the web: data migration, IT operations and full-stack development.

  2. 2021

Alumic Softworks opens in Los Angeles as a freelance practice: web builds, SEO audits, paid-media strategy and landing pages for small and mid-sized businesses.

  3. Now

The practice becomes Alumic: two people, Trevor and Rodolfo, focused on trade contractors.

The team

Everyone at Alumic, both of us.

No directors, no departments and no account managers. If you work with us, these are the two people you work with.

Technical lead

Trevor McReynolds

Trevor has built and run the machinery behind websites since 2018: web operations and data integrity for a national travel brand, campaign landing pages, technical SEO, and the automation that keeps large sites honest. He started Alumic in 2021 as a freelance web, SEO and paid-media practice in Los Angeles.

He started in data-migration consulting, moving billing data for hundreds of veterinary practices from one system to another. From there he ran IT operations and full-stack development at an audio and digital-signage company.

He then spent several years in digital experience at a national travel brand. He ran digital campaigns and landing-page production, fixed technical SEO problems, and built the checks that validate prices and promotions before customers see them. He now leads web operations and data-integrity tooling there, including reconciliation across hundreds of thousands of records during a platform migration and browser automation with Playwright.

At Alumic

Builds the sites, the tracking and the tooling, and does the arithmetic behind every number we show you.

Product

Rodolfo Cervantes

Rodolfo is a product manager who has spent his career in digital experience and property-tech software, turning what customers actually do into processes that work for them.

His work has been in digital experience and property-tech software, most recently self-touring software for rental housing. The job there is the one he does here: watch how customers actually behave, then turn that into product and process that fits them, rather than the other way around.

At Alumic

Leads the conversations with owners and maps how inquiries move through a business, from the first ring to the booked job.

How we work

What it's like to work with two people.

  1. 01

    A small team, on purpose

There are two of us. We take on a handful of businesses at a time so each one gets our attention rather than an account manager's.

  2. 02

You talk to the people doing the work

Whoever you speak to on the first call is who builds, runs or measures the thing. No hand-off to someone who wasn't in the room.

  3. 03

    Your numbers, not industry averages

We work from your call log, your job values and your booking rate. Where you don't know a number yet, we say so rather than borrowing someone else's.

The longer version is on our values page: six rules that come straight from how our tools and reports behave.

Where we are

Los Angeles, working across California.

We're based in Los Angeles and work with contractors across the state. Most of the work happens on calls and shared screens; if you're nearby and would rather sit down in person, say so when you write.
